I believe a beautiful smile can make all the difference in the way that we feel about ourselves. People who love the way their teeth look will always smile more, and with greater confidence.  I love to see the photos that we take to document treatment progress for our patients.  As the teeth are transformed, patients smile with more confidence, and the process is amazing to see.  I feel truly grateful to be an orthodontist, and to have so many people trust me with their smile.

Education and Experience

"While I was having orthodontic treatment, I became really interested in the process, often looking at my teeth to try to figure out how the braces and wires moved my teeth.  It may sound odd, but I soon found myself noticing other people's teeth - it was then that I knew I was destined to become an orthodontist."

After I received my undergraduate degree from BYU in 1994, I went to dental school at the University of California, San Francisco, graduating with honors in 1998. I then completed the three-year post-graduate program at the University of Southern California, where I received both my Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s Degree in Craniofacial Biology.

Continuing Education

Dr. Jacobsen completed the Invisalign Aligner Intensive Fellowship to learn the best techniques for Invisalign treatment so that he can achieve optimal outcomes for his patients.  In the Aligner Intensive Fellowship Dr. Jacobsen has been mentored by some of the most outstanding orthodontists in the country.

Outside the Office

I met my wife, Nicole, at USC School of Dentistry—she was in the dental hygiene program at USC while I was doing my orthodontics residency. We have five beautiful children who keep us extremely busy and fill our lives with purpose.  When I am not at the office, I love going to my kid's games, tournaments, and performances.   Our family likes to swim, watch movies, and make homemade pizza.
