Office Policies
Initial Appointment
We at Jacobsen Orthodontics look forward to meeting with you. At your initial visit, Dr. Jacobsen will discuss with you the positive changes you would like to experience through orthodontics. In addition to discussing the benefits of straight teeth, Dr. Jacobsen will discuss with you the appropriate time to begin orthodontic treatment, what types of appliances (Invisalign, braces, etc.) may be used, and the approximate time and financial investment that would be necessary to achieve the goal of a beautiful, healthy smile. Digital photographs of your teeth, and digital x-rays may be recommended so that Dr. Jacobsen can make an accurate diagnosis, and prepare a customized treatment for you and/or your child.
There is no charge for this initial evaluation at Jacobsen Orthodontics.
Regular Appointments
Dr. Jacobsen sees patients Monday through Friday, from 8:00 to 5:00. Patients in the Orange office are scheduled on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Patients in the Huntington Beach office are scheduled on Tuesday and Friday. Should the need arise, you can be seen for a regular appointment, or an emergency appointment, in either office. Regular appointments during treatment are scheduled approximately every 6 weeks. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.
Financial Arrangements
After the initial evaluation with Dr. Jacobsen, our financial coordinator will discuss the fee associated with the recommended treatment. Treatment fees are based upon the severity of the orthodontic problem, the types of appliances that will be used, and the approximate time that will be required to achieve the objectives of treatment. Our financial coordinator will discuss with you various payment options, and will process insurance claims on your behalf. In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:
- If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a fee discount. (If you have insurance, we will offer a discount for payment of your portion of the fee that will not be covered by insurance.)
- To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.
- For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA, MASTERCARD, and AMERICAN EXPRESS.
- We also offer financing through Chase Health Finance and CareCredit if you would like to start treatment with no down payment.
